Now until the end of the year is an excellent time for CPAs to meet with clients, not only to discuss tax planning but to talk about other important issues. Here are 12 Questions to Ask Your Clients Right Now:
- What are your priorities/goals for next year?
- What is required to achieve these goals?
- What challenges do you predict for your business over the next 3-5 years?
- What are your growth plans?
- Do you expect any significant changes in your income in the next five years?
- Do you have any financial or tax needs that are not being met by the services we are currently providing?
- At what age do you plan to retire? Have you identified your successor?
- When is the last time you reviewed your will?
- In what ways can your company increase revenue/sales?
- Do you have any financial concerns?
- How satisfied are you with our service? In what areas can we improve?
- What is the most important contribution that we can make to you and your company?
Great advice to get feedback. Questions are deadon in trying to get needesd info from clients. I would think however better to combine into maximum of four question even if they be multipart questions.
For example:
1. What are your growth and succession business goals for next 3-5 years? What are the greatest anticipated obstacles?
2. When was the last time die you have a comprehensive individual financial planning review to ensure financial and peace-of-mind protection especially in lieu of unexpected life events?
3. What do we do well for you and your business? What can we do better?
4. What else would you like to tell us?
